While many luxury brands have been crossing over to the animated side for some time now—Loewe’s collaboration with Studio Ghibli, and Gucci’s Donald Duck collection come to mind—this is the first time that a luxury brand will be taking on a starring role in an animated motion picture (though it likely won’t be the last, given that Kering acquired CAA earlier this year). With Barbie having taken 2023 by storm, we’ll be watching to see if Lego will rule in 2024.
